Stress Less and Live More

Are you over thinking it – without a doubt, of course, positively?!

We all live crazy hectic lives, and a busy life is full of stressful situations – that’s a given. But that doesn’t mean there is nothing you can do. Your thoughts can actually affect the way your brain processes stress, for better or worse. Most of the time, our brains compound the problem, adding thoughts of self-doubt and frustration to already difficult situations.

We’ve compiled a list of 5 ways to empower yourself & cope with stress, so you can start livin’ the #ZweetLife:

1. Get some ZZZ’s – try to aim for at least six hours of sleep time. If you have trouble dozing off, try focusing on your breathing, count to 100 backwards or purchase a white noise machine to lull you into dreamland.

2. Don’t lose faith – wondering if you did or said the right thing? Worried about the future or contemplating a big change? Have faith that it will all work out. Remaining in this mind set helps alleviate stress and pressure that comes from the feeling as though you have to be in control all the time.

3. Release – get to sweatin’! Reduce muscle tension and use up energy that’s mobilized during a stress response. Join us on the mat at our Zweet Sport Hot Yoga Studio, hit the weights at the gym or take up a pole fitness session. Release that tension so you can enjoy the moment!

4. Find your focus – concentrating on the present moment by bringing your attention to your breath and coming back to it whenever your mind wanders. Try devoting time to breathing exercises & mediation techniques on a daily basis, it is important to make relaxation a priority.

5. Just say no –

Understand that getting to a balanced place takes trial and error, so keep calm and say no to things that aren’t extremely important. Don’t fret, it’s ok.
